Chic Pea Studios Pvt. Ltd. was founded by Dr. Ganesh Nallari, a maverick designer and artist whose studio activities span fashion, textile design, costume design, styling and photo shoots, theatre and film production.

Chic Pea Studios reflects the talent and genius of Ganesh as a designer and artist.

His brand "GANESH NALLARI", synonymous with high-quality apparel and accessories, specializes in Indian ethnic couture, wedding clothing for women and men, film and theater costume design, soft furnishing and an exclusive line of kidswear. The brand's uniqueness lies in its approach towards adapting classic Indian art forms into chic futuristic urban designs, with an objective, to deliver products that are made with the utmost attention to detail set to international standards.

The Designer

An award winning fashion and textile designer, a painter, a trained classical dancer, an actor and once a dentist, Ganesh Nallari exhibits diametrically different talents.

He is a prolific motivational speaker and is a strong presence at various sensitization programs on child abuse and empowerment. Amongst his varied tour de force is a TEDx talk and a documentary film "unSPOKEN", which, through a painting, initiates a dialogue to end the silence and denial related to child sexual abuse and encourages healing by building one’s strengths.

He balances all his interests gracefully and channelizes the energy he gets from them into designing soulful and fashionable clothing

His professional journey from the time he was a dentist to studying design and carving himself a niche in the Indian fashion industry, has been an inspiration to many.

Ganesh has a list of prestigious degrees and awards conferred upon him; a Bachelors in Dental Surgery, a Postgraduate Diploma in Textile Design and Development from NIFT, and a Master of Arts in Fashion Design from Domus Academy, Milan.

He was awarded a Gold medal for academic excellence with community service from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam at the NIFT convocation in 2005 and was a finalist at the European Silk awards held in Como, Italy in 2006.

While at Domus Academy in Milan, Ganesh worked with international labels and designers like "Frankie Morello", Elio Fiorucci's "Love Therapy", Rafel Lopez and Future concept lab. He designed and developed a resort wear line for the Brazilian brand "Havaianas" for his Master's thesis. Before he began his label "GANESH NALLARI", Ganesh was a senior designer at many retail and export houses based in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Ganesh Nallari is regularly invited to speak and teach at prestigious institutes of fashion like NIFT and Woxen School of Arts and Design. He has been juror at severeal fashion events like Pantaloons Femina Miss India and Hyderabad Times Fresh Face. He presented a handloom collection called "Vaibhavam... a treasure trove", exhibiting the traditional textiles of Andhra Pradesh at the 21st Surajkund Mela in 2007, sponsored by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Ganesh was selected by Bombay Dyeing Pvt. Ltd. to showcase their season's bed linen collection as garments for the annual dealers meet in 2010.

Other Pursuits

Ganesh Nallari has designed for several films and television shows in the South like Jhummandi Nadam, Mr. Perfect, Life is Beautiful, Gundello Godari , Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara, Lakshmi talk show and Malayalee house amongst many others.

He has designed for movie stars like Taapsee Pannu, Lakshmi Manchu, Amala Akkineni, Revathi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sonu Sood, Manoj Manchu and has the credit of giving a makeover to Olympic gold medalist P.V. Sindhu for The Times of India.

He has trained in Kuchipudi with the late Dr. Usha Rani at a young age and went on to learn Bharatanatyam from Padmashree Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant. He assisted in the choreography of the Afro-Asian Games held in 2003 in Hyderabad and performed at the prestigious Konark Dance Festival and several other dance festivals in Chennai, Hyderabad and New Delhi.

Ganesh's love for dance and his intense involvment with various art forms, made him take up costume designing for various contemporary and classical dance productions, like Ananda Shankar Jayant's "Dancing Tales- Panchatantra", "Sacred number 108", "Darshanam - An ode to the Eye", "Kaavyanjali- An ode to Gurudev", Alekhya Punjala's "Rudrama Devi" and Deepika Reddy's "Jaya ho Golconda" to name a few. The costumes he designed for Junaid Ullah's "Miss Prophet" was the highlight of the play.

Ganesh's association with theater is multitudinous- he acts, writes, designs and directs. His play "Mudra-the silent gesture," in particular, won several hearts and got rave reviews.

He was featured in Aamir Khan's talk show "Satyamev Jayate" in 2012 in the episode that spread awareness on child sexual abuse. He was invited as the speaker by the Telangana State police on the eve of World Day for Prevention of Abuse and Violence Against Children in 2014 and is currently volunteering with them on a one year awareness campaign that aims to reach out to all districts in the state of Telangana.

Ganesh strongly feels that life is an oxymoron and so is design with various multitudes of styles and material, giving him an opportunity to explore what's seen and what's unseen. His experiences and knowledge in science and cultures have strongly influenced his work and it's his passion for art that makes his world go round and gives him a creative high!
